چکیده
Although the prothrombin activity was lowered, the other coagulation results were not appreciably different one week after the start of the regime of gradual withdrawal. The increase of Factor VIII concentration was still significant but less marked at the end of the second week. By the third week of the withdrawal regime the prolongation of the prothrombin time was no longer significant, although the Factor VII level was still reduced (see Chart). By this time the increase of Factor VIII concentration had also disappeared. Unlike the previous " rebound " study, where the cephalin time was dramatically shortened a week after treatment was completely stopped, in this investigation the results at the same stage were not significantly different from the parallel normals. Only when the cephalin-time results were compared with the larger group of 80 normals did the shortening achieve the level of significance.

Prevalence of Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase Deficiency among Male Donors in Shiraz, Southern Iran
The overall incidence of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency in Iranian population is estimated around 10%-14.9%. G6PD deficiency is an X-linked disorder and 80% of donors are usually male. At present, donors’ blood is not routinely screened for G6PD deficiency in Iran blood bank where for detecting such enzyme deficiency, reliance is placed on pre-donation data. Thus, the G6PD ...

Background and Aims: Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency is a global problem and the most common cause of jaundice in neonates. Hence, this study was conducted to investigate the prevalence of G6PD deficiency in Jiroft city in southern Kerman. Materials and Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out from 2016 to 2019. Blood samples were taken from all patie...
متن کاملPrevalence of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency and haemoglobin S in high and moderate malaria transmission areas of Muheza, north-eastern Tanzania.
Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency and haemoglobin S (HbS) are very common genetic disorders in sub Saharan Africa, where malaria is endemic. These genetic disorders have been associated with protection against malaria and are therefore under strong selection pressure by the disease. In November-December 2003, we conducted a cross-sectional survey to determine the prevalence of...
متن کاملPrevalence of Glucose-6-phosphate Dehydrogenase (G6PD) Deficiency in Patients Suspected of Favism in Qaleh Ganj, Southern Iran: A Restriction for Malaria Elimination
Background and purpose: Despite wide fight against malaria in endemic regions, it is still one of the most serious infectious diseases in some parts of the world. Primakin is effective in treatment and prevention of malaria. However, individuals with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency are at risk for hemolysis and its complications when taking primakin. This study was performe...
متن کاملMolecular Characterization of Cosenza Mutation among Patients with Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase Deficiency in Khuzestan Province, Southwest Iran
Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency is one of the most common hereditary enzymatic disorders in human, increases the vulnerability of erythrocytes to oxidative stress. It is also characterized by remarkable molecular and biochemical heterogeneity. According to previous investigations, G6PD Cosenza (G1376C) is a common G6PD mutation in some parts of Iran. Therefore in the present...
